Friendship Tea
Into a large bowl mix:
1 jar Nestea (56g)
1 1/2 cups berry sugar
4 cups orange crystals
4 cups lemon crystals
4 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
Store into smaller jars or apothacary containers.
Put 2 Tble. of dry mix into a mug, add boiling water.Serve with
a cinnamon stick.
Hot and Mulled for
Cold Tummies
1 liter apple juice
1 liter grapefruit juice (unsweetened)
2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup black molasses
1/4 cup jam (your choice)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. all spice
1 tsp. ground cloves
Heat to just below boiling until
1/2 hour before serving.
Add: 1 liter sweet red wine or cranberry
juice and continue to mull for 1/2 hour more.
Slice lemon and/or orange and float on
finished mulled drink.
Christmas Crafts
Dancing Mothball Centerpiece
Half fill the bowl to be used with water.
Measure.
To each liter of water add:
1 Tbsp. Citric acid
1 Tbsp. Baking soda
Color the water if desired using food coloring.
Add 6-8 mothballs (depending on the size
of container you may want to add more or less)
When effervescence ceases, add more citric
acid and baking soda.
NB: Use only fresh ingredients.
Do not use scented mothballs such as cedar,
pine, or lavender etc. The additives will destroy the effect.
Onto a ceramic or plastic saucer arrange
chunks of coal to resemble a small rock garden. (broken chunks
of brick or concrete can be substituted)
Mix in a glass jar:
6 Tbsp. Salt
6 Tbsp. Bluing (Mrs. Stewarts Liquid)
6 Tbsp. Water
6 Tbsp. Ammonia
Mix well. (salt will not completely dissolve)
Spoon onto rock garden wherever you want
your garden to grow, including the saucer. For special effect,
add a touch of green or red food coloring to duplicate growth
of flowers etc.
